Family law is important to me because it has always been part of my life. At a young age, my family adopted a child, and a few years later went through the divorce process. I have personally experienced the majority of situations that come up in family law cases, and those experiences lead me to fight for my clients in order to get court orders that will best fit their family’s needs.
One thing setting me apart from other lawyers is that I am also a judge for the Cherokee Nation. Because of my positions, I am able to see a situation from a perspective most lawyers will never have. Luke Barteaux is very familiar with all aspects of Family Law.
His experience started at a young age, having witnessed the separation of his nuclear family and later on in childhood living through the move of half of his family moving across the county, adoption of a sibling, transferring custody, speaking with a judge as a child, and knowing when to end certain relationships. Later in life, Barteaux has experienced marriage and all that comes with it and raising children.
As humans we are all guaranteed to make some mistakes sometimes. Sometimes these mistakes have legal consequences. As long as we are willing to learn from our mistakes and make a commitment to not repeat those mistakes they shouldn’t be held against us for the rest of our lives. The legal fees that our mistakes can create are sometimes very large. Not everyone can afford to pay high priced legal fees. This is why I offer some pro bono or reduced cost services.
